Q: How and when did you decide to become a swimmer?

A: As a person being vision impaired, my sports are limited so I wanted to try swimming.


Q: What does the sport of swimming mean to you and what would you say if you were told that you can’t swim anymore?

A: I created such a passion in such a short amount of time for swimming that if it were taken away from me I'd be devastated but would looking for another sport that caters to the vision impaired.


Q: Who is your biggest supporter?

A: My mom and dad.


Q: Are there any athletes that inspire you the most and why?

A: Michael Phelps because he has changed the sport of swimming and is now the most decorated Olympian.


Q: Did you ever swim an event at meet that you did not like and how did you handle it?

A: Yes, swimming the 100 fly. Initially I didn't want to do it, but I stepped up and did the event any way.


Q: How has swimming impacted your social life and how do you deal with it?

A: Hasn't really impacted my social life but has made my schedule a lot busier.

Q: What is your favorite and least event at a swim meet?

A: Favorite: Breast stroke. Least favorite: Butterfly.


Q: Are there any lessons you have learned, other than swimming, since you became a swimmer?

A: I have learned how to pace myself. I only know one speed and slow is not it.

Q: What do you like to do outside of swimming?

A: Hunting and running cross country.


Q: What are you dreams or goals for the future in swimming?

A: Try to make it to the Olympics.
