Hi Sigma Swim and Stroke Schoolers! We come to a close of our 7 part series introducing the 4 strokes of Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly. This 7th part in our series of swim tips continues with our popular and often misunderstood stroke that is introduced in Level 7 of the Sigma Swim School: BUTTERFLY.

Fact of the week: For the non-swimmer, Butterfly is considered one of the hardest strokes to learn. This misconception is primary due to swimmers young to old thinking butterfly is a strength stroke when in reality, it can be swum by very young to very old if the TIMING of the arms, legs, and breath are correct. Incorrect timing results in butterfly having to be swum with strength - Muscling through the stroke. Watch the video above to envision your child one day swimming this stroke with GRACE and EASE!

How does my child move up? Come to every swim class, bring your progress report, earn those stickers, and ask your child's instructor or location's deck manager if you have questions.

Christmas may be considered to be the most wonderful time of the year. However, in the world of swimming, SUMMER IS! Glad you're with us!
