NO MORE Water Up Your Nose!!!

Writer's picture: Sigma SwimSigma Swim

Happy Friday Adult Swim Schoolers! This week we complete our introduction to Adult Beginner Swim topics. If you missed the previous 7 parts in our series, click here. We close our 8-part series with a swim tip that EVERY SWIMMER, beginner to advanced, should master:

STOP WATER from GETTING IN your NOSE:

Fact of the week: You have the ability to minimize or completely control the uncomfortable feeling of water going up your nose. First, become aware of your surroundings. Are you in an ocean with unexpected currents or waves? Are you around other people who might move around and splash unexpectedly? Know your surroundings. Second, use your ability to breathe in and out of your nose. When you sense that water might be coming your nose's way, breathe OUT through your nose.

How do I move up? Attend as many of your classes as possible, communicate with your instructor on your struggles, goals, and where you're at in our curriculum. We also have many adults who purchase a gym membership to 24 Hour Fitness or LA Fitness while they are taking lessons so they can practice 2-3 times between classes.

It's the best time of the year to be learning how to swim as an adult!
